Brief Bio
Nlandu Mamingi received his Licence degree (1976) from
the National University of Zaire, MA degree (1984) from the Institute of Social Studies,
The Hague, and PhD degree (1992) from the State University of New York at Albany. He
served as Lecturer at the University of Kinshasa from 1978-1987. He worked at the World
Bank as an Economist from 1992-1996 before joining the Faculty of Social Sciences in 1996.
Dr. Mamingi has published chapters in books and several papers in refereed journals such
as Economics Letters, Journal of Policy Modeling, Agricultural Economics, and Journal of
Development Economics (forthcoming). He has also served as referee for journals such
as Journal of Econometrics, International Journal of Forecasting and Journal of African
Economies. He has been a member of the editorial Committee of Journal of Eastern Caribbean
Studies since December 1997.
Dr. Mamingi currently teaches Econometrics, Statistical Methods, and Resource and
Environmental Economics. His current research involves forecasting, testing for common
features, panel data modeling, pollution control and land use modeling.
