Economics Major/Minor Options

The following Minors are offered with the Major in Economics:

Fifteen credits are required (five semester courses) at levels II and  III to qualify for Minor subject along with the 30 credits (10 semester courses) required for the Major discipline.

Accounting Minor:

   MS25A Intermediate Financial Accounting I

   MS35D Advanced Accounting Theory and Practice
   MS36A Principels of Auditing

Public Sector Management Minor:

   MS22A Organizational Behaviour
   MS22B Human Resources Management
   MS29A Public Sector Management Analysis
   MS39A Managing Development
   MS39C Project Management

History Minor:

   Five of:
   H20A West Indian History 1490-1804
   H20B West Indian History 1804-1979
   H30A Caribbean Economic History
   H31A Latin American History 1810-1910
   H31B Latin American History since 1910
   H32A History of U.S. to 1865
   H32B History of U.S. since 1865
   H33A History of Africa, 1800-1900
   H33B History of Africa, 1900 to the present
   H34A Continuity and Change in Nineteenth Century Europe
   H36C International Economy since 1850

Mathematics Minor:

   M20A Abstract Algebra
   M20B Linear Algebra
   M21A Analysis & Maths Methods I
   M21B Analysis & Maths Methods II

Law Minor:

Any five Law courses at Level II or above from among the following:

   LA20A Law of Torts II
   LA21A Law of Contract II
   LA22A Law of Property I
   LA22B Law of Property II
   LA23A Public International Law I
   LA23B Public International Law II
   LA24A Comparative Law I
   LA24B Comparative Law II
   LA25A Jurisprudence
   LA25B Law in Society I

Note:   Students with an inadequate background in Mathematics are required to complete EC14A Introductory Mathematics before taking EC14B Mathematics for Economists I.  Students may take EC14B in Level II of their Programme.
